My Deeper Why Behind Literacy Simplified

Why literacy?

Why brain science?

Why this relentless mission — until every child can read?

Because of the Word.

One day, every child will wrestle with big questions about truth, purpose, and faith.

And for many of them, those questions will lead them to Scripture.

But reading is not just an academic skill — it’s access.

If a child cannot read or comprehend what they read, they are always dependent on someone else’s interpretation of the Bible. They cannot engage the Word fully, wrestle with it honestly, or encounter it personally.

God designed the human brain to be naturally wired for language — but not for reading.

And yet, He chose the written Word as His primary means of revelation.

That matters.

When children learn to read well — truly read, with understanding — they are equipped not just for school, but for life. They gain the ability to engage Scripture directly, think deeply, ask hard questions, and grow into the fullness of who God created them to be.

That is why I do this work.

I am relentless about raising readers because literacy is not just about achievement — it’s about agency, access, and identity.

It’s about equipping the next generation to encounter God’s Word with confidence, clarity, and conviction.
